Sharon-Franklin Brown is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. As CHRO, Sharon is responsible for managing all operations of the human resources, organizational development, and labor relations for a staff of nearly 800 employees.
In September 2020, Sharon made history when she became the first Black transwoman elected President of the Board of Christopher Street West Association/LA Pride, the nonprofit organization that produces LA Pride, the second largest Pride celebration in the country. Following this announcement, Sharon received a coveted feature in Out Magazine’s annual, “Out100” list, where she discussed her new role with the 50-year-old organization.
Sharon is a navigator of change and a recipient of the Leadership Award for her extraordinary contributions by supporting and furthering civil rights in advancing workplace diversity on behalf of the Employment Roundtable of Southern California and the City of Los Angeles.
