Jessie tries the "Curly Girl Method"

As you may or may not know, I've deemed 2021 my "Year of Health" - healthy mind, healthy body and most recently, I've been working on achieving healthy hair. My hair is naturally curly. Although, my curls didn't appear until I was in fourth grade and some pieces are shaped more like "S" than ringlets.

In my quest for healthy hair, I stumbled upon the "Curly Girl Method" which at a very basic level tells you to stop using the following on your hair - shampoo, heat, combs and brushes, fragrance, sulfates, non-water soluble silicones and alcohol. The theory is curly girls need more moisture. Some even swear by adding coconut oil to their hair. (Side note: I tried that may have overdone it. More on that in the video below.)

My goal is to undo years of heat and damage to my hair and give you updates along the way. I hope you'll join me in the journey and share this with your curly friends too!
