King performed as part of a tribute show for Parton’s 78th birthday in January and gathered the wrong kind of attention after taking the stage over-served.

Video clips of King at the Opry that night quickly went viral after she was captured slurring her speech, cursing, harshly clapping back at fans and even forgetting the words to the Dolly song she was performing, “Marry Me.”

Following her showing, Elle has yet to publicly address her behavior, but the Queen of Country music (and the evening’s birthday girl) stepped up to offer forgiveness and encourage others to do the same.

"Elle is really a great artist. She's a great girl," Parton told Extra TV when asked for her perspective on the situation. "She's been going through a lot of hard things lately and she just had a little too much to drink. So let's just forgive that and forget it and move on, 'cause she felt worse than anybody ever could."
