Any music fan around Puget Sound has undoubtedly been missing the live concert experience, and some of us are especially pining for hot, loud nights at small venues like the Showbox, the Tractor Tavern, and Neumo's. It's a crucial part of what makes life around here so great, and it's been MIA for the past year because of you-know-what.
Well, now a massive coalition of artists from the Northwest -- or artists who have deep connections to the Northwest -- will show support, and hopefully raise some much-needed money, for the people who run those small indie venues.
The event is called Band Together Washington. It's a live streaming showcase hosted by Sir Mix-A-Lot and Rachel Flotard, with live performances, concert rarities, discussions, and just a bunch of fun with some of our state's most celebrated musical and showbiz figures, including:
Ali Hedrick, Allen Stone, Brandi Carlile, Cedric Walker, Chris Ballew (aka Caspar Babypants,) Clinton Fearon & Boogie Brown Band, Daniel Pak, Duff McKagan, Eva Walker, Foo Fighters, Gifted Gab, Jeremy Enigk, Joel McHale, Karli Ingersoll, Kathleen Hanna, NMacklemore, Manny Cawaling, Matt Cameron, Megan Jasper, Mike McCready, Nate Mendel, Neko Case, Pearl Jam, The Presidents of the United States of AMerica, Rainn Wilson, Shannon Welles, The Black Tones, Tomo Nakayama, Tres Leches, Trey Many, Visqueen, Walking Papers, and the ever-popular MORE.
Band Together Washington is a free event, but of course they'd really love it if you kicked in a few bucks. Your donation will support Keep Music Live's efforts to provide COVID-19 relief grants to small, independent music venues throughout Washington State.
