The production company behind the eye-opening documentaries Framing Britney Spears, and its follow-up Controlling Britney Spears, will next be telling the story of one of Pop music’s biggest blunders.

The New York Times Presents Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson is set to premiere on both FX and Hulu on Friday, November 19 at 10PM ET, offering a close up look at the “wardrobe malfunction” heard ‘round the world during Janet Jackson’s performance with surprise guest Justin Timberlake at the 2004 Super Bowl.

As the story goes, during the halftime festivities helmed by Jackson during the 2004 Super Bowl match between the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers, Timberlake appeared on stage for a duet of his hit “Rock Your Body.” Just as he promised in the lyrics, Justin pretty much had Janet "naked by the end of this song," after tearing away a piece of Jackson's outfit and exposing her right breast -- covered with a pasty.

The new doc will come together using rare footage and interviews with "people who were at the controls," in an effort to "reconstruct an incident that shook the country and explain how it shaped culture in the decades to follow,” according to a description.

New reporting by The New York Times, as well as “insights from music industry insiders, cultural critics and members of the Jackson family” will also be featured, exploring the immediate fallout from the event including Jackson's blacklisting across Viacom networks, as well as the role played by CBS executive Les Moonves.

Don't miss the premiere of The New York Times Presents Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson on FX and Hulu beginning Friday, November 19 at 10PM ET.
