It's Culture III season. Though we're here for a good time, Migos is in this "for the long run." In an exclusive fireside chat with our own Greg Street, Migos discuss Culture III, staying true to themselves, their "day one element," their gift to the fans and that one time a performance of theirs got shot up.

In case you haven't heard, these fellas (Greg Street included) go back— way back. Back to the days before "Walk It, Talk It" and "Bad and Boujee." The Atlanta DJ was even backstage during an early performance where shots were fired, seconds before they were set to touch the stage. The men recall being at a local nightclub near a Chick-Fil-A, prior to joining the Quality Control roster.
Quavo reflected, "that's crazy. That whole time, we were gearing up. We was waiting to perform, then my boy Greg [Street] was right there. So, it was our big moment. Right when we was finna grab the mic, shots went out and we had to get up outta there."
The conversation shifted to when their rise to fame truly began. In the A, "Versace" was blowing up, but when they landed on the west coast for the 2013 BET Awards, it was actually "Chinatown"— from their YRN (Young Rich N*****) mixtape— that was on repeat.
From where they came from to where they are now, they all only had one way to describe the feeling— "blessed." With being together for almost a decade, Quavo expressed that their bond remains solid because they "go through ups and downs together." He feels as long as they're on the same page, everything always works out. "As a family, we already know the goal, the end goal," he continued.
Staying true to their "day one" roots, Migos revealed that it's "Type S***" featuring Cardi B— which also happens to be our favorite feature— that was "created from the day one element" of them truly working as one. Quavo stated, "we all got in the booth and went back and forth. Even me. I'm ad libbing Take's verse while he's rapping. So, it's not even a second take. It's one take [straight through]."
When it came to their single, "Avalanche," it was revealed that it was actually a "big challenge" for them. "We went and grabbed 'Papa Was A Rollin' Stone' [from The Temptations]. My boy [DJ] Durel cooked it up in the studio and we put that Migos touch on there. We feel like we can rap on any beat," Quavo expressed.
To accompany their new album, merch is flying off the shelves. However, for Christmas, the trio revealed the entire Culture collection will be available for purchase in a bundle pack and for those record lovers, it will also be available on vinyl. Allow us to "have [it] our way" and get into the full chat with Migos and Greg Street above.
