Last week, former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

Just as the jury was coming to a decision, Ma'Khia Bryant, a 16-year-old girl from Ohio, was shot and killed by Columbus police.

These are just two examples of many racially charged police brutality incidents that occur regularly in the US.

What can we all do to bring about racial equity in the aftermath of these tragedies?

Talking about these issues is important, and many have started the conversation. To learn more about these issues and how you can help, these podcast episodes are a great place to start.

Available on the Audacy app, here are some podcast episodes that address current events and their implications on racial justice in America:

Pod Save America

Pod Save America, "Accountability Today, Justice Tomorrow"

Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) joins Pod Save America to talk about the Derek Chauvin verdict and the ways in which Congress may help to push police reform in America.

Pod Save the People

Pod Save the People, "The 200th Episode (with Larry Krasner)"

DeRay, Kaya, De'Ara, and Sam are having an open discussion about the Derek Chauvin verdict in this episode, including bits of underreported news for the week. Larry Krasner joins to chat about criminal justice reform.

What A Day

What A Day, "What's Next for American Policing"

While Derek Chauvin was held accountable for his actions, he's just one officer of many who could face similar charges. What does this mean for the future of policing in America? Marshall Project's Jamiles Lartey discusses in this episode.

In the Thick

In the Thick, "The Fight Continues"

In this episode, Maria and Julio discuss the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial by unpacking ongoing police violence on Black communities and talking about how we can put an end to it.
