The website FinanceBuzz has a new job listing posted where they’re seeking a “newly single” individual to listen to breakup songs for 24 hours.
“We’re looking for someone who has recently gotten out of a relationship to listen to 24 hours of heartbreak-inspired songs,” the listing reads. For your efforts, FinanceBuzz will compensate you $1,100. At $45.83 per hour, that’s not a bad rate!
The individual selected for this job will listen to some of the most famous breakup songs and then categorize them into five different playlists that represent the five stages of grief. That is, denial, anger, relapse, depression, and acceptance.
“Research shows breakups become more common as the new year rolls around, with breakup season peaking in March,” the listing continues. “Between now and April, thousands of couples will break up, causing untold heartache and financial pain. We're looking to ease both the emotional and monetary pain for one heartbroken soul.”
Aside from having the duties of curating the perfect breakup playlist, you’ll also have a job title that’ll look incredible on any resume - DJ of Heartbreak.
