Produced by Daddy Yankee, the Netflix series follows a trio of best friends in their early 20s who leave their small Florida hometown for Miami, with the hopes of making it big in the world of Reggaeton.
Santi played by Tyler Dean Flores, is a rising Reggaeton artist who, with the help of his friends Ness (Emma Ferreira), Felix (Jordan Mendoza), and A&R rep Mia (Courtney Taylor), hopes to become the biggest star in Reggaeton… or at least make enough guap pay his rent.
Featuring a soundtrack of Reggaeton bops form chart-topping artists like the "Gasolina" rapper himself, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and more, the Gen-Z centered series balances both sexy and silly vibes, and it’s giving friendship, persistence, and the perils of the modern-day music industry.
“We’re starting from the bottom,” Emmy-winning director Oz Rodriguez, who helmed Neon’s series premiere, told Netflix's Tudum. “The fact that it was the story about these Latino kids trying to make it excited me… They’re not there yet, but they’re chasing the bright neon lights.”
