While Bobbi isn’t individually nominated for a GRAMMY, her group Maverick City Music is nominated for two — Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, and Best Gospel Album for The Maverick Way. Talking about the honor Bobbi said it feels, “surreal, fast, humbling, exciting,” noting “it’s just a preview of what’s to come.”
For those who don’t know, Bobbi was recently almost kicked off a Delta Airlines flight after she ignored a flight attendant's requests to stop singing on the plane.
Overjoyed by receiving the news of her GRAMMY noms, Bobbi felt the need to sing, noting she was "doing what the Lord is telling me to do." And despite the flight attendant's plea, Bobbi refused to stop and sit.
Talking about the situation, Bobbi shared, “I just took a step back and really took this as a lesson, you know times are really crazy in this world. And not even just the backlash or the negative feedback I got from fans, my own mom was scared for me when I got home. So I really just want to apologize to anyone I offended, even if it was passengers that I disrupted.” Noting, “I really just wanted to share my joy, but as I evolve and look back at situations… it was just one of those right intent, but wrong place at the wrong time.”
“At the end of the day he had a uniform on and a job to do, so I’m gonna apologize to him as well,” Storm shared, talking about the flight attendant. Bobbi also confirmed that the airline did reach out about “how” everything was handled.
Bobbi also chatted with the crew about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, some of her favorite artists and the current state of R&B, plus the transition from secular to non-secular music, and more. Listen to the entire interview above.
