Power restoration nearly complete in metro area, but a long road elsewhere


The Louisiana Public Service Commission says 99 percent or Orleans, St. Tammany and St. Bernard Parishes have power back 13 days after Hurricane Ida.

Jefferson Parish is more than 95 percent reconnected.  The bulk of the remaining outages are in hard-hit Grand Isle.

Plaquemines Parish is about 80 percent restored.

The battle continues in Lafourche and Terrebonne.  As of Saturday morning more than 75 percent of customers there remained without electricity.

St. Charles Parish has the highest portion of its homes and businesses still without power.  The PSC says 85 percent still are not hooked back up.

St. John is nearly 70 percent out.

St. James is 37 percent without electricity.

Livingston is about 19 percent out.

In Tangipahoa, 28 percent of customers are waiting for power.
