That morning I felt something weird in the air. We went to the Observatory to see the view of the city. That morning the smog was so thick you could not see much of anything. A friend wanted to see the Hollywood sign and we couldn't find it because of the smog. As we left the Observatory that morning we later heard news of a helicopter crash. I got a phone call from my son who was at the hotel. He was crying as he told me that Kobe Bryant was in that helicopter. At that time the entire city slowed down. Then news came that his daughter was on the plane also along with other passengers. I've been to LA over and over again but I have never seen such a dark cloud over the city.
