Visitors to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida will not only be transported to a galaxy far, far away, they can stay there too!
Walt Disney World News revealed the first look at the cabins inside Disney’s new resort, Galactic Starcruiser, located adjacent to the 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, which opened in August and has been adding attractions despite the pandemic.
The luxury hotel offers a completely immersive experience where guests will get to live out their inner Skywalker fantasies.
The two-night interactive getaway starts out right when you arrive at the Starcruise Terminal (also known as the hotel lobby) and are transported in a launch pod which has been decked out to look like you are traveling through space to reach the Halcyon.
Inside the cabin is a queen bed with themed bedding and two padded bunk beds or “pods” carved into the wall.
There’s a small safe, a fridge, and a door outfitted in an airlock style that is most common inside a spaceship.
The room also has mounted screens – one that shows the ship’s trajectory through outer space and doubles as a TV, and another that serves as a "window" to the cosmos, allowing you to feel like you’re actually traveling through space.
Two room sizes will be available to rent: regular and “Captain’s Quarters.” It’s not clear what the differences between the rooms are.
WDWNT notes that a three-day, two-night package for one person will cost an expected $3,300 or just over $1,000 per person, per day. More on pricing here.
The resort is set to open in 2021, but Disney will begin accepting reservations later this year.
Once there you’ll be able to mingle amongst other guests as well as popular characters from the franchise in the Atrium. Fingers crossed for Baby Yoda!
