While many great singles dropped throughout the year, we’re here to celebrate the albums. From Morgan Wallen’s 30-track, One Thing At A Time, to Taylor Swift’s epic re-releases, 2023 was full of good music worthy of big-time celebrations.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) - Taylor Swift

1989 (Taylor's Version), which released October 27, marked Taylor Swift’s fourth re-recorded album. It surpassed Speak Now (Taylor's Version), which released July 7, collecting more than 1.65 million album-equivalent units, including 1.35 million album sales — the largest opening week of 2023. The album spent its first two weeks at No. 1, followed by another week in the lead on the December 9 chart, and now has officially bounced back to the top of the December 23 chart.

SOS - SZA

SOS marked the second studio album by singer-songwriter SZA. It sat at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for eight weeks making it the longest reigning number-one by a female artist.

The Name Chapter: Temptation - TOMORROW X TOGETHER

TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s The Name Chapter: Temptation EP debuted at number one on the chart with 161,500 album-equivalent units which earned the group their first number one in the U.S.

Mañana Será Bonito - Karol G

Mañana Será Bonito is Colombian singer, Karol G’s fourth studio album. The album became only the third Spanish-language album to top the chart in its 78-year history in addition to being the first-ever Spanish-language album by a female artist to reach the number one spot.

One Thing at a Time - Morgan Wallen

One Thing at a Time, marked Country singer-songwriter, Morgan Wallen’s third studio album with a whopping 30 tracks. The project is the longest-running number-one album of the year spending 16 non-consecutive weeks at #1.

Midnights - Taylor Swift

Taylor’s Midnights album returned to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart in June thanks to an updated edition. Taylor's 11th number-one album, officially tied her for the most chart-toppers among female artists with Barbra Streisand.

5-Star - Stray Kids

Stray Kids’ 5-Star album sold 249,500 equivalent album units making it the fourth-largest 2023 album by week. It earned 235,000 pure album sales made up of 231,000 CDs and 4,000 digital albums.

Pink Tape - Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape brought rap to the top of the the Billboard 200 chart for the first time in 2023. It debuted at the top with 167,000 album-equivalent units.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) - Taylor Swift

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), marked the third re-release of six that Taylor planned in an effort to regain artistic control of her music. The project debuted at the top of the chart with a whopping 716,000 units, including 507,000 album sales making it the largest week for a country album since December 2014.

Get Up - NewJeans

Get Up marked the fourth mostly non-English language album to top the chart in 2023, and only the 20th in history. The EP debuted with 126,500 album-equivalent units and 34.39 million streams.

Utopia - Travis Scott

Utopia marked Travis Scott’s first album in a half-decade and debuted with 496,000 equivalent album units in its first week. An impressive first week for the rapper who remained pretty quiet following the tragedy at his 2021 Astroworld Festival.

Zach Bryan - Zach Bryan

Zach Bryan of Oklahoma made a big impression with his debut, self-titled album. Featuring his one-of-a-kind Country, Rock, Americana-Folk sound, the 27-year-old celebrated opening with the equivalent of 200,000 sales in the United States including 233 million streams and 17,000 copies sold.

Guts - Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo scored a personal best with the release of her second studio album, Guts. Debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 with 302,000 units moved, the number is an improvement from the 295,000 posted by her debut album, Sour, in its first week.

Nostalgia - Rod Wave

Rod Wave celebrated his third number one on the chart, and sixth top-ten with Nostalgia. The project debuted on top of the Billboard 200, earning 137,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.

For All the Dogs - Drake

Drake’s 23-track, For All The Dogs, was his 13th LP to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. At its debut, the project celebrated the largest streaming week of 2023 in the U.S. with over a half-billion song streams.

Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana - Bad Bunny

Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana was announced October 9, released Oct. 13 and earned Bad Bunny his third number 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart by the end of the month. The project earned 184,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. the week ending October 28.

One More Time… - blink-182

This 30-year-old Rock band still knows how to rock. One More Time not only debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week, out also knocked out Drake’s For All the Dogs in its third week.

Rock-Star - Stray Kids

This mini-album garnered big results for the members of Stray Kids. The project sold 213,000 copies in the United States accompanied by 16 million streams in its debut week.

Thanks in part to 30 collectable editions, ATEEZ topped the Billboard 200 for the first time in December with 152,000 equivalent album units in the U.S.

Nicki Minaj made her third trip to the top with her first number 1 album in over a decade, as Pink Friday 2 helped make chart history for the rapper.
