Inspired by a meme, Ice Spice is back with a new single, “Think U the S*** (Fart),” running back a similar but different beat to her breakout hit “Munch,” and has fans thinking she’s running back Latto disses as well.

On the track, she first teased by posting the inspo meme on X, Ice raps on the hook, “Think you the s***, b****?/You not even the fart,” over a pounding, video game-inspired beat from RIOTUSA, synthetic + venny.

As for those shots fired at Latto, the internet speculates the lyrics, “I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up / She all on the floor, told her get up,” appears to be a nod to Latto’s hit song, “Put It On Da Floor.”

The first of 2024, but the not the first time ever, Ice Spice has thrown shade Latto’s way. Last year Ice seemed to single out Latto on two different tracks on the deluxe edition of her debut EP Like..? which arrived in July.

Also referencing “Put It On Da Floor,” first on “How High?,” borrowing a line from Biggie, Ice rapped — “Now she all on the floor when I kick in the door/ How you mad I do less ’cause you gotta do more?” And then on “Butterfly Ku,” with — “Where she at? On the floor/ She gettin’ money, but I’m gettin’ more.”

For those wondering if Latto just let the supposed shade slide — the answer is no. After those first two shots, the Atlanta rapper responded similarly with her feature on the Offset track “FINE AS CAN BE,” referencing Spice’s hit “Munch (Fellin’ U).”

“That n**** a munch/ Yo bookin’ fee, ate it for lunch / I don’t do backends, need it up front / I’m big dawg, you b****es is runts / Don’t pull wigs, don’t pull stunts / I pull triggers and I pull blunts / I pull cars like it’s Tonk / B****, you couldn’t top me in the bunk (ha!),” she raps on the track.

It is believed Ice and Latto’s issues initially stem from copycat accusations that the copper-haired rapper brought up against Latto, for striking a pose similar to Spice’s signature bent-over hand over the goods pose.

In response to the claims, Latto tweeted, “Every time y’all accuse me of copying folks ima clear it up. Nun mo nun less." Adding, “I don’t like how y’all take my tweets & make them fit ur weak ass narratives,” in a follow up tweet.

Whether or not any of this beef is real or not, who knows... But Ice’s stance on having friendships with other female rappers, kind of makes us lean towards the latter. While talking to Variety back in September, Ice said, “It is a competition at the end of the day. People want to be all, ‘I’m a girl’s girl,’ but then behind the scenes being b****es. Basically, we here, the girls, are doing amazing. I’m excited to see it.”

“I feel like the competition is what keeps us all excited because I think we all secretly enjoy competing and seeing who put that s*** on better and who’s gon’ get the most views. I can be transparent, and I know the competition is checking on me too, which is why it’s OK to say that.”

Anyway, enough of that, listen to “Think U the S*** (Fart)” above.
