According to reports, singer R. Kelly had been placed on suicide watch following his conviction in New York of racketeering in September.
While Greenberg did not say whether or not Kelly had actually expressed any wishes to harm himself, he did mention that the singer will be rebuilding his defense team in preparation for his August 2022 Chicago cases -- where Kelly has been charged with child pornography and obstruction -- and believes he and his partner Michael Leonard will remain as lead counsel.
Kelly, 54, was found guilty on September 29 in New York after decades of allegations surrounding sexual misconduct with minors. His final hearing in New York is set for May 4, 2022, where he potentially faces 10 years to life behind bars.
