Every year Forbes releases their list of the richest people in the world, and this year’s list had plenty of Texas representation. Not only did the top spot go to newly minted Texan Elon Musk, but 29 other Texans made the list as well. Of the 1,000 billionaires that made the list, 15 came from DFW including some very familiar names.
DFW is home to quite a few billionaires that have become regular mainstays of Forbes’ annual list of the world's richest. Once again, the highest spot for any DFW resident went to Walmart heiress Alice Walton at number 18, with a net worth of $65.3 billion. Following Walton was Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at number 185, Banking and real estate kingpin Andy Beal at number 201, Oil and real estate titan Ray Lee Hunt at number 386, Money manager Ken Fisher at number 509 and Oil and investment guru Robert Bass at number 536.

According to Dallas Culture Map, some other names that made the list include; Media magnate and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, widow of tech and real estate entrepreneur Margot Birmingham Perot and Real estate bigwig H. Ross Perot, Jr. Hopefully next year, these Texans are even higher on the list.
