Usually when someone leaves something on an airplane, it is gone forever. Luckily for one 9-year old girl from Plano, that wasn’t the case when she left her favorite doll on a recent flight from Tokyo. The girl was recently reunited with her doll after a pilot from Richardson heard the story and went on a hunt to find it.

When Valentina Dominguez left her favorite American Girl doll on a flight from Tokyo, her family thought it was likely lost forever. After checking all their bags, and calling the airport and airline, the family made a last ditched effort by posting about the doll online. Luckily, First Officer James Danen of American Airlines saw the post and decided to help.

"It's my nature. I like helping people... that's just what I like doing," said Danen who lives in Richardson. According to WFAA, it took the pilot multiple attempts to locate the doll, but finally was able to return the doll to the girl this week. As this story shows, people in DFW have each other’s back.
