‘Batman’ fans have been patiently waiting for the return of the caped crusader, but while delays have pushed the release date of Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ back to March 2022, recent news may help hold them over. It was announced recently that HBO Max is working on a spin-off series for the film that will focus on the penguin. While the project is currently in the early stages of development, many fans are already predicting what may come.
Matt Reeves’ upcoming film ‘The Batman’ is set to bring back a fan favorite villain, with Colin Farrell portraying the Penguin. While many were shocked by this casting, apparently it has worked out as HBO Max is currently in talks with Farrell about starring in their upcoming spin off about his character. While no deal has been singed, Farrell is expected to continue in the role.
Known as one of the most iconic villains in the Batman franchise, the Penguin has previously been portrayed by Danny DeVito in ‘Batman Returns’ and Robin Lord Taylor in ‘Gotham,’ according to NME. This is not the only Batman series currently in the works, as Reeves previously announced another HBO project acting as a prequel to ‘The Batman.’ It seems soon there will be too much Batman for fans to handle.
