Every year, people put up their Christmas decorations hoping to be deemed the best display in the neighborhood. Some take months of planning and sometimes can cost a fortune, but it’s all worth it when the home is praised for the set up. Sadly for many in DFW, this year it will be difficult to top a home in Allen that has a light display that incorporates more than 30 Christmas movies.

Allen homeowner Chad Smith has been planning his Christmas decorations for all of 2022. He began in January with ordering equipment, followed that up with editing in June and began constructing the light display in September. Now, December is here and his home has become the talk of the neighborhood, as it has a radio station synced to the lights and the display, and the elaborate show features more than 30 movies.

According to CBS DFW, the display takes about 6,000 to 7,000 lights, and lots of technical equipment. When asked how much it costs, Smith said, “I'm not going to say just because of how much the family loves it." For anyone hoping to get a glimpse of this home, it is located at 1600 Wagon Wheel Drive, in Allen.
