Any time someone goes fishing, their goal is to catch the biggest fish possible, but when that fish turns out to be an alligator; it’s probably best to let that one go. A group of anglers in Florida were stunned recently when an alligator snuck up on them while fishing in a pond in the Everglades. Luckily, no one was harmed and the group managed to catch the scary moment they noticed the alligator on video.
As seen in the now viral clip, the group is focused on the small fish at the end of their fishing pole, when all of a sudden someone in their group notices something in the murky water. Slowly, an alligator appears in the water, watching the group as they move away from danger. According to Fox News, the video has been viewed over 24 million times since being shared.
While many online joked the gator was just waiting for one of the anglers to fall in, others were quick to point out the dangers of fishing in the Everglades. Luckily, the group managed to leave the area before the alligator left the water. They likely won’t be returning to that pond any time soon.
