The internet is full of dog videos, but in recent years a new trend has popped up, robot dogs. These dogs have been seen delivering packages, maneuvering through difficult terrain and even dancing. Now, AT&T has built a robot dog of their own, and recently took it out for a walk around Downtown Dallas.
AT&T's new robot dog was made in collaboration with Ghost Robotics and is covered in cameras and sensors. While robot dogs may seem like they were only made for our entertainment, AT&T says this dog can go where it is "too dangerous for humans" and can be used by the public safety community, the military and businesses. According to Fox 4 News, at least 8 military bases currently have these dogs in operation.
The new dog recently took on the terrain of the AT&T Design District, showing it can maneuver through water, curbs and stairs. It can even detect things like radiation and explosives. One day, these dogs may be seen walking all over DFW and some may even want to give it a pet.
