In most cases, memorabilia collectors are going after items most have little to no interest in. However, an upcoming auction is set to sell a number of historic rock and roll pieces that will have many music fans opening up their wallets. Julien’s auctions announced recently they will be auctioning off a number of items, including artwork by Kurt Cobain, one of Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstrat guitars, Robert Plant’s original handwritten ‘Kashmir’ lyrics and more.
The upcoming “Icons & Idols” auction is set to bring in quite a bit of money, with plenty of big ticket items up for grabs. While the headliners include items from Kurt Cobain, Eddie Van Halen and Robert Plant, the auction will also include items such as; an abstract nude oil painting by Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton’s Derek and the Dominoes-era acoustic guitar, and U2 guitarist the Edge’s stage-used Les Paul electric guitar. These items are expected to range in price from $30,000-$300,000.

According to Rolling Stone, the auction will also include a number of clothing items worn by Keith Richards, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, and more. Many music fans are hoping to get their hands on some of these items. However, they will have to be ready to spend a pretty penny to add to their collection.
