It seems in recent years home security cameras have become more for watching the strange activity that happens in front of someone’s home, as opposed to catching criminals. While camera systems may help homeowners feel safe, it has also led to some of the best viral videos. The latest comes courtesy of a family in Florida, who spotted a group of bears trying to enter their home, but instead of breaking in, the bears simply tried to open the front door.

Usually anytime someone in Florida has an unexpected animal encounter near their home; it’s an alligator they are dealing with. However for the Stark family, they were recently interrupted by a group of bears trying to enter their home. According to Fox News, the bears calmly attempt to open the home’s front door, before turning away when unsuccessful.

“We just heard the Ring front door go off and went to check and saw the bears. Our neighborhood is down the road from Black Bear Wilderness Preserve, so bears are common, and we have seen them in the neighborhood. The startling part was this was the first time I ever saw one try to open the front door. The front door was locked though, thank goodness,” said Marlene Stark. Hopefully the family’s next doorbell footage includes a bear and an alligator.
