They say everything is bigger in Texas, and now the Lone Star state has the dog to prove it. A Great Dane in Bedford was recently deemed the world's tallest dog by Guinness World Records. The 2-year-old dog stands 3 feet, 5.18 inches tall and is definitely hard to miss.
Brittany Davis first got her grey and brown Great Dane named Zeus when he was only 8 weeks old, but even then she knew he would be massive. "He's been a big dog since we got him, even for a puppy. He had huge paws," said Davis. Already known for their large size, Zeus manages to make other Great Danes look small, as Davis has become used to people asking questions about her dog anytime they are out for a walk.
"The comment that we hear most often is 'Wow, that's a horse!' 'Can I ride him?' or 'Does he have a saddle?' The answer to all those questions is 'no,'" said Davis. According to NBC DFW, Zeus eats 12 cups of dog food a day, and his water bowl is the kitchen sink. Now, Zeus can walk around proud with the title of World's Largest Dog.
