Texas doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to health, mainly because of the cuisine throughout the state. However, a new study has proved that to be wrong, especially in one part of DFW. The study found that Collin County is the healthiest county throughout Texas and 50th for the entire country.
U.S. News recently unveiled their list of the 500 healthiest counties in America, and while many thought Texas wouldn’t be found on the list, many counties throughout the Lone Star State made the cut. To find the results, U.S. News looked at 10 factors for each county; Community health, Health, income, education, and social equity, Education, Economy, Housing, Food and nutrition, Environment, Public safety, Community vitality and Infrastructure.
According to Dallas Culture Map, Collin County took the top spot in Texas thanks to their score of 95 in the economy category. Other Counties to make the cut were Rockwall County at 70 and Denton County at 180. Luckily for those in Collin County, they now don’t have to feel so bad next time they go for seconds.
