Any time Texas is compared to any other state, Texans will come together to support their home. However, when it comes to rankings exclusive to Texas, there is always some friendly competition between cities. Now, Collin County has received some new bragging rights, as a new study has ranked the area the healthiest county in Texas.
The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute recently released a report on the 2022 county health rankings across the country. For Texas, the study found that three North Texas counties were in the top five healthiest in the entire state. According to Dallas Morning News, Collin County ranked number one, while Denton County was number two, and Rockwall County number five.
Further down the list was Tarrant County at number 26 and Dallas County at number 43. To determine these ranking the study looked at factors such as overall life expectancy, quality of life, and clinical care and health behaviors such as smoking and drinking. Thanks to this, Collin County can now make fun of the rest of the state.
