For most people, living in a home from one of their favorite movies would be a dream come true. Any time a house with movie or television ties hits the market; its celebrity status is one of the main selling points. However, one couple wasn’t aware the house they bought had been used for a movie, and now their dream home has become a nightmare.
Back in 2019, Jon and Cressida Bromley purchased a small cottage in the United Kingdom, they claim is “one of those getaways where you go and hide yourself somewhere in a little village.” However, what they didn’t realize was their perfect getaway was actually the inspiration for the 2006 film ‘The Holiday.’ Since purchasing the home, they have dealt with a constant stream of tourists and fans of the film coming to view the home.

“There's a fair few people that come past looking for the house. Then you get the odd one who goes past and stops and says 'I recognize that, is this the 'Holiday' cottage?' and 'do you mind if I take some pictures?'" said Jon Bromley. According to Fox News, the couple is still happy with their purchase, despite the distractions. At least they know to include the home’s history when they eventually try to sell it.
