Seeing an alligator up close can be an exciting experience. However, most get that feeling when they see the reptile behind a barrier, not when one happens to appear in their backyard. That's exactly what happened to a Florida couple recently, as their morning coffee routine by the pool quickly turned stressful after it was interrupted by a surprise alligator sighting.

Tim Kelly and his wife enjoy spending their mornings out by the pool, but that may soon change after recently being visited by an alligator. According to Kelly, the alligator was about seven feet long, but luckily it just hung out by the pool as the couple continued drinking their coffee. "It got loose and it started heading towards the pool so I opened up the doors, hoping it would go out. Next thing you know, we're sitting there and we hear a splash and it jumped in the pool and started taking a swim," said Kelly.

Eventually, the couple called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who safely removed the alligator, according to People.
Still, the couple said they were flabbergasted by the surprise visit. Even though they live in Florida, that's a visit from a neighbor the couple hopes they won't be getting again.
