Music can cause a listener to experience a wide range of emotions. yet, some genres tend to hit certain feelings more than others. For example, often metal bands create the most aggression among their audience, as seen in the mosh pits that are guaranteed to break out during these shows. However, it was a completely different type of music that surprisingly formed a mosh bit at a recent music festival, as viral video shows a mosh pit breaking out during an orchestra performance.
Last weekend, audience members at Truck Festival in England showed their wide range of music tastes, jamming out to a variety of performances, including one from the Oxford Symphony Orchestra. As seen in multiple clips that recently went viral, fans began to mosh pit as the orchestra performed. According to NME, the crowd enjoyed the orchestra’s versions of John Williams’ ‘Indiana Jones Theme’ and Gioachino Rossini’s ‘William Tell Overture.’
Many online were stunned to see the rowdy mosh pit to the sedate music, as most assumed a metal band was performing before hearing the music. Clearly, the Oxford Symphony Orchestra knows how to rock.
