As more and more development projects pop up throughout Texas, each seems to include a special feature to attract business. One of the amenities that has become a go to for many developers is adding a crystal lagoon to the area. Now, yet another massive crystal lagoon project has been approved in Texas, this one set for Central Texas.

Similar projects are in the works in Rowlett and near Houston, and now the latest crystal lagoon project has been approved 25 miles north of downtown Austin. The $1 billion project will include; retail, restaurants, entertainment, a hotel, office and residential space, along with the 4-acre crystalline lagoon. “Leander Springs has a phased approach that will bring in much needed commercial development at the beginning of the project while incorporating residential uses in a proportional manner,” said Leander Mayor Troy Hill.

Along with the business amenities, the project expects to include 1,600 multifamily residential units. All of this will be built around the giant body of water made by Crystal Lagoons. At this rate, it would seem odd for a development not to include a crystal lagoon.
