Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, where no doubt you will gather around a table with your loved ones and indulge in a feast for the ages.
Calories don’t count on Thanksgiving.
It’s not just your waistline that will take a punch on Turkey Day, though. Let’s just say, plumbers in North Texas are going to have a very busy Friday.
We all probably know the day after Thanksgiving as “Black Friday,” chock full of deals to kickstart the holiday shopping season. For plumbers however, that day is known as “Brown Friday,” where searches for “emergency plumbers” hit an all-time high, thanks to the effects of all that indulging on the holiday.
New data from Yelp shows that searches for “emergency plumbers” spiked 27% nationwide after Thanksgiving last year, and a lot of those searchers occurred right here in Dallas.
Dallas had the second-most need for emergency plumbers than any other city in the nation, followed only by Salt Lake City.
Honolulu, Miami, and Los Angeles rounded out the top five.
Dallas, had a 15% overall increase in plumbing-related searches during the Brown Friday time period, and searches here increased specifically for “septic pumping services,” and “toilet repair.”
Austin came in at No. 8, and was the only other Texas city to make the Top 20.
