Valentine’s Day is here, and love is in the air all throughout DFW. While many couples will be showing their love to each other today, one couple decided to get the festivities started last night. The love birds got married at halftime of the Dallas Mavericks game, and it was the first ever midcourt wedding during an NBA game.

While many Mavs fans were in attendance to see Kyrie Irving’s first home game on Monday, some fans were there to see Ellyn Piatt and Reid Malone get married. The Arkansas couple got engaged during a Dallas Mavericks game in 2021, and decided to have their big day at American Airlines Center as well. According to WFAA, Malone’s mother is a season ticket holder, and Piatt learned early the Mavs would be a major part of their relationship.

"I was very upfront with her that my family are huge Mavs fans," said Malone. The wedding took place during halftime of Monday’s game, and the team claimed the wedding was the first ever to happen midcourt during an NBA game. Maybe the next game they attend, there will be a baby announcement.
