The first round of the NFL playoffs will come to a close Monday night with a game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While many Cowboys fans are hoping this is their year, some are more confident than others. Consider Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson as one of the more confident fans, as he recently placed a friendly bet with the Mayor of Tampa Bay, with the winner receiving 6,000 Tiff's Treats cookies.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor recently announced a "Tiff's Treats Throwdown" where the winning mayor will receive 500 dozen-count boxes of cookies from the loser. According to NBC DFW, that's a value of about $10,000 in cookies. "The Cowboys have put together a terrific season, and the City of Dallas and all of Cowboys Nation is excited for our team to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the greatest quarterback of all time — with hot, fresh cookies on the line," said Mayor Johnson.
This is not the first time the two Mayors have placed a bet on a game involving their cities, as back in 2020 they bet on the Dallas Stars vs Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Finals. Mayor Castor won that bet, receiving local craft beer, Texas brisket, and Sweet Connie's candy apples from the State Fair of Texas. Hopefully this bet works out better for Mayor Johnson.
