DFW has grown quite a bit in recent years, and while there are many factors that have contributed, arguably the largest is business opportunities. With a number of businesses moving to the Lone Star state, and some local companies becoming successful nationwide, the metroplex is now a leader in a number of different fields. One of those is finances, as a new report claims Dallas now has the second most financial services jobs in all of America.

Over the years, some of the country’s biggest financial centers have been losing jobs, making way for new fast growing cities to enter the field. One of those is Dallas, which since 2019 has added 32,000 finance services jobs. According to Dallas Morning News, this growth puts Dallas only behind New York in terms of number of jobs in the field.

These jobs include banking, insurance, investment management and accounting. “Our population is exploding and we have the ability to employ all aspects of the financial services industry from back office to investment banking,” said JLL managing director Torrey Littlejohn. Now, DFW has yet another thing to brag about and maybe one day the metroplex will even have the number one spot.
