Getting a flat tire is enough to ruin anyone’s day, and sadly that has been happening to quite a few drivers in DFW recently. Over the last few weeks there have been a number of incidences of drivers getting nails in their tires while driving through high traffic intersections. Now, Dallas PD is warning of a potential “nail bandit” dropping roofing nails in these areas.
Over the last six weeks, there have been at least 30 incidences of drivers running over nails in high traffic areas of Dallas. According to CBS DFW, 13 of these incidences occurred in Highland Park, four in University Park, and many more on social media. Other parts of the metroplex are getting hit as well, as Preston Hollow neighbors recently claimed they found over 300 nails on their streets, while Plano police recently arrested a suspect for a similar incident.

Highland Park and University Park Police have confirmed the man arrested for the Plano incident is a suspect for their cases as well. “It's just so dangerous. We use these streets every day," said Preston Hollow neighbor, Laila Dolle. Hopefully the issue is resolved soon before more tires are popped.
