Labor Day weekend is coming up, and with it comes plenty of traffic on the roads. With many people traveling over the weekend, drivers are urged to be extra cautious. That’s especially true in Dallas, as a recent study ranked the city as the second deadliest for Labor Day driving.

Insurance agency Jerry recently unveiled the results of their study on Labor Day driving. Using traffic fatality data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the study was able to determine which cities had the deadliest roads during the holiday weekend. According to Dallas Culture Map, Dallas ranked number two, only behind Los Angeles, California.

Two other Texas cities were on the list as well, with San Antonio ranking 4th and Houston 7th. "The number of people killed in traffic accidents over the Labor Day weekend rose 38 percent from 2012 through 2021, with an average of 447 lives lost every year," said the report. Hopefully everyone is safe and those numbers go down this year.
