Anyone attending a Dallas Stars game for the first time may be surprised to learn, quite often throughout the game fans bust out into song, singing classic hits as the team plays. This has become one of Stars fans’ favorite traditions, and the rest of the NHL got a taste of it Thursday night during their playoff game against the Seattle Kraken. In a video that has since gone viral, fans can be heard singing Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer” as the announcers try to call the game on TV.
The Dallas Stars have one of the best fan experiences in the NHL, and that was proven Thursday night when the entire crowd joined in on a singalong multiple times throughout the game. As those who have attended games this season, or watched from home, know often fans can be heard singing songs like Garth Brooks’ ‘Friends in Low Places,’ or The Killers’ ‘Mr. Brightside.’ On Thursday, it was Bon Jovi that got some DFW love, as fans serenaded the team with “Livin’ On a Prayer.”
Fans began singing in the third period as the music from the song shut off once game play began. Clearly, the singing didn’t distract the team too much, as they managed to win the game. Maybe the singing will help guide them all the way to the Stanley Cup.
