Zoos and wildlife centers throughout DFW have seemingly been extremely busy over the last few months, as they keep announcing new animals being born. Already the Dallas Zoo and Fort Worth Zoo have announced new elephants being added to their habitats, while Fossil Rim revealed two new baby giraffes. Now, the Dallas Zoo is back again with another animal birth announcement, this time adding a new baby giraffe to the zoo.
On March 19, the Dallas Zoo welcomed a new baby giraffe. The 131 pound healthy female giraffe was born to mom Chrystal and dad Tebogo, according to Fox News. “We're thrilled to share that our giraffe herd has grown by one," said the Dallas Zoo on a recent Facebook post.
The new giraffe is yet to be named, though the zoo said a name should be announced soon. Currently the giraffe exhibit at the Dallas Zoo is under maintenance, but once complete the new giraffe will be added for guests to visit. Now, DFW will just have to wait and see what the next DFW zoo animal born is.
