The Dallas Zoo announced they have welcomed a new member to their family this week. The zoo shared the first photos of a baby giraffe that was born last week. While the baby giraffe hasn’t been named yet, some lucky zoo visitors have already got a glimpse of the new giraffe.
On October 13, the Dallas Zoo’s new baby giraffe was born, standing 5 feet tall and weighing 135 pounds. According to CBS DFW, the female calf has already started venturing out into the giraffe feed yard. “We are thrilled to introduce this little lady who joined our giraffe herd last week! Mom Katie and dad Tebogo welcomed a healthy female calf late in the afternoon,” the Dallas Zoo said in a tweet announcing the birth.

While some guests have already seen the giraffe, she doesn’t have a set schedule for yet for when she can be seen at the exhibit. For now, guests will just have to hope they are there at the right time. Hopefully this giraffe enjoys living in DFW as much as the rest of us.
