Every winter the Dallas Zoo is turned into a holiday light experience, and while this year’s event will be different than in was in the past, its shaping up to be a once in a lifetime experience. For the first time in the Dallas Zoo’s 132 year history, they will allow cars to drive thru the park to view their light show. Dallas Zoo Lights’ first ever drive-thru experience opens this weekend, and it will take vehicles through parts of the park they’ve likely never seen.
The holiday lights experience at the Dallas Zoo will run from November 20 through January 3. They will allow 600 cars per day, and tickets cost $65, $50 for zoo member. “For everything that we've been through, the community has been through, this is a real opportunity for us to give hope to do this in a safe way,” said Dallas Zoo COO Sean Greene.
The drive thru experience will take vehicles through a 1 ¼ mile path, and will go through the park’s backlot. Reservations are required for those wanting to go to the Dallas Zoo Lights experience. With all the changes, this could end up being their most spectacular winter lights event yet.
