Back in 2020, Dave Grohl started a tradition for the holidays of showing love to Jewish musicians for Hanukkah. This year, he out did himself once again, as he and Greg Kurstin were joined by a number of legends such as P!nk, Karen O and Beck. However, it was his release for the seventh night of Hanukkah that surprised fans the most, as Grohl was joined by actor Jack Black for a cover of Rush’s ‘The Spirit of Radio.’

While Jack Black is mostly known for his various movie roles, he is no stranger to the world of music as part of the duo, Tenacious D. Now, Black has taken his talents to a bigger stage, performing with Dave Grohl as part of the 2022 Hanukkah Sessions. In the video, Grohl plays drums, with Kurstin on keyboard, as Jack Black belts out the iconic Rush song.

According to Yahoo, Jack Black’s Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass even got in the video, briefly shown holding up an applause sign. “Geddy Lee’s mother was so proud of her son that she put Rush posters up all over their family store and gave away Rush albums to kids who didn’t have money to buy them. In tribute to that proud Jewish mother, we give you — free of charge—’The Spirit Of Radio’ featuring Jack Black!” the video was captioned.
With this video, they definitely made Rush proud.
