The 2022 Winter Olympics are only a few days away, which means it’s time to start wearing all that red, white and blue gear while cheering on our country. Luckily, even with roughly 3,000 athletes from around the globe competing at this year’s games, DFW will be well represented. Of the 222 athletes representing the United States, five have ties to the metroplex.

Beijing may be 14 hours ahead of Texas, but that won’t stop the Lone Star state from cheering on our local athletes at this year’s games. Representing Texas in China will be Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc in pairs figure skating, Sylvia Hoffman in bobsled, Katie Uhlaender in skeleton and Ashley Caldwell in freestyle skiing. Cain-Gribble is originally from Carrollton, as her and her partner train in Euless. Hoffman is an Arlington native, while Uhlaender comes from Central Texas. Finally, Caldwell may not be from Texas, but her parents currently reside in Houston.

According to Dallas Culture Map, this will be the first Olympics for Cain-Gribble, LeDuc and Hoffman, while Uhlaender and Caldwell have competed in multiple Winter Olympics. Hopefully all these athletes represent Texas well.
They will be getting plenty of support from back home.
