North Texas has grown so much over the last few years and there are no signs of it slowing down any time soon. While plenty examples can be seen throughout Dallas and Fort Worth, the surrounding cities in the metroplex have seen an explosion of development as well. Now, a new report has revealed three North Texas counties have made the top 10 for largest US population growths in 2022.
The U.S. Census Bureau recently released their Vintage 2022 estimates of population and components of change. The list showed the top 10 population growths throughout the country from 2021 to 2022, and the entire to list was composed of cities from the southern or western parts of the United States. However, it was Texas that really stood out with five counties in the top 10.
According to WFAA, DFW accounted for three of those, with Kaufman County at number two, Rockwall County at number six and Parker County at number eight. Taking the overall number one spot was Whitman County in Washington. While the Lone Star State missed out on the top spot, at this rate next year’s list may be nothing but Texas.
