For many people, the perfect vacation is a trip to either Disney World or Disneyland. However, usually when people go; they travel by car or plane. That was not the case for DFW’s Don Muchow, who recently completed a cross country run, going from Disneyland in California to Disney World in Florida in order to raise awareness for type 1 diabetes.
Don Muchow of Plano, Texas started his “Mouse2Mouse” challenge in California back in February 2020, but after stopping in Tarzan, Texas, 1,260 miles into the challenge in March, Muchow decided to pick things up in September with the goal of completing his challenge. Finally, this week he completed his almost 2,845 mile trek. “It felt surreal. I’ve spent so long trying to get there, and suddenly, it was done," said Muchow.
According to Fox News, Muchow is a type 1 diabetic, and wanted to raise awareness for the disease. The trip to both Disney parks was used as motivation, as Muchow said “We’re huge Disney fans. The Disney motto ‘If you can dream it, you can do it’ really hits home for me. Dreams are great, but memories are even better." Hopefully once his run was over, Muchow wasn’t too tired to get the full Disney experience.
