A DFW man was visiting Austin a few months back when someone broke into his car, stealing a tote bag that was in the vehicle. While most would assume the bag had potentially valuable items like a phone, wallet or jewelry, the thief ended up with a bag containing a 16 foot python. Now, after being missing for months, the man has finally been reunited with his pet snake.
The Austin Animal Center was recently contacted after a resident captured a 16-foot-long albino reticulated python in their garage. Some in the neighborhood claim the snake had been roaming the area since July, but the resident was finally able to trap it as it was lethargic due to low temperatures. Luckily for the snake’s owner, the Austin Animal Center saw a post on Nextdoor posted months ago from the DFW man talking about his missing snake, Snow.

According to Fox 4 News, the python was kept at the Austin Zoo for a day until the man was able to drive down and retrieve his pet. Now, the pet snake is back home in DFW and safe. Hopefully, finding a snake in the back taught the thief a lesson as well.
