Any time someone steps up to a grill, they are hoping their food turns out just as good as the pros. Of course for most wannabe pitmasters, that’s not always the case. Luckily, one DFW pitmaster is now selling his signature rubs at Walmart, so everyone can get the taste of Texas barbeque, even when at home.
Joe Zavala opened his first restaurant back in 2019, and since Zavala’s Barbeque in Grand Prairie has become a local favorite. Thanks to Zavala’s being named one of the best BBQ restaurants in Texas, the pitmaster is now selling his own rubs at Walmart as well. The beef rub, fajita rub and pork rub are now available at 500 Walmart locations across Texas.
According to Dallas Morning News, the rubs are being sold for $8.98 each. “Because of this, we’re making more YouTube videos and showing people how to use what we use, at their house,” Zavala said of the new venture. With this, those backyard barbeques will be a lot more impressive.
