DFW is full of great restaurants, but in recent years it’s the work of one local chef that has stood out above the rest. It has become common to see chef Tiffany Derry’s name pop up any time there is a list of the best restaurants or chefs. Now, it has happened once again as Derry’s Roots Southern Table was recently named on the list of The South’s Best New Restaurants of 2023.
Southern Living recently unveiled their list of the best new restaurants in the south, and coming in at number 21 was Roots Southern Table in Farmers Branch. According to Dallas Morning News, Roots Southern Table was one of only two Texas restaurants on the list, with Austin restaurant “Birdie’s” being ranked 20th. While Roots Southern Table has been open for over two years, Southern Table still felt it deserved to make the list.
Chef Tiffany Derry is no stranger to these lists, but it’s another restaurant she’s working on that she likely hopes will make this list in the next few years as well. Derry will open an Italian restaurant named Radici in late 2023 or 2024. Just like the rest of the award winning chef’s work, it will likely be beloved by many in the metroplex.
