Many students across the metroplex are gearing up to start school again. While some schools have already begun classes for the 2022 year, others are holding on to their final days of summer as long as possible. For students at John Peeler Elementary School, their principal wanted to come up with a way to get students excited about returning to school, so he recently shared a back to school rap music video.

John Peeler Elementary School in Oak Cliff is celebrating their first day of school a little differently this year. Principal Tito Salas recently shared video of his new song ‘Dream in Gold’ that is set to the tune of the popular TikTok song ‘Jiggle Jiggle.’ “My pirates don't dribble, dribble, they score. We don't like bronze or silver. We like gold. It makes me wanna think a little. You know! You're champions and I see it. You really have to be it,” Salas raps in the video.

According to WFAA, Salas is dressed as a pirate in the video, which is the school’s mascot. While the principal will likely get a few jokes thrown his way, it is definitely a new way to get kids excited for the school year. Maybe some more songs will be released throughout the school year.
