They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but somehow a dog in Texas managed to figure out a new trick all on its own. Koda, a golden retriever that works as a fire safety training dog in Georgetown, Texas recently figured out how to open a door when her human companion got locked outside. Luckily, security camera captured the moment the dog saved her human.
Earlier this month, Koda and her human companion were visiting the fire department's administrative offices when the firefighter stepped outside without his security key. As seen in the now viral clip, the moment the dog notices, she jumps into action, hopping up and hitting the door bar to let him back in. “When she noticed me tapping on the door, she quickly came over and opened it for me," said the firefighter.

According to Yahoo, the fire department shared the video, and it quickly went viral. "What happens when you get locked out of the Public Safety Building at night? You rely on the best fire dog Koda to rescue the day!" the department captioned the video. At least now the fire fighter knows he has a backup if he ever forgets his keys.
